Cooperation with research-conducting (university and extra-university) organisations and research-using organisations (companies, public institutions, etc.) has always been very important to the Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft. The Ludwig Boltzmann Institutes thus work in strategic partnerships with companies and institutions which bring specific questions to the research work and help to define the common research programme. It is thus also guaranteed that the results are directly applicable to the partners, who could not realise their research projects without such cooperation. The joint research work thus becomes more up-to-date, relevant and of higher quality.

On the other hand it is often difficult to anticipate the results of high-level research. We take on this risk as an independent organisation with a long-term perspective.
